Who Am I?

New face, new everything? You're probably wondering who I am.

I'm Ryan – most people call me Vitality Ryan, Marketing Guy, other names I wouldn't put in a writeup. I'm executing a not-so-hostile takeover of the Artist Formerly Known as Dental Lab Tips. I'm here to share practical insights, have real conversations about this thing called dental, and keep things interesting along the way.

How I Got Here

I'm the Head of Marketing & Special Projects(huh?) at Vitality Dental Arts, a full-service dental lab based in the USA – that's my day-to-day. But my connection to GreatLab started 5.1.2025.

When our lab transitioned to GreatLab, I handled most of the integration myself. From day one, I was impressed – not just with the software, but with the team behind it. The platform made sense, the support was solid, and the whole experience was smoother than any software rollout I'd been part of before (3rd LMS, 2nd CRM?).

That relationship grew over time. Eventually, Seth reached out to me about GreatLab Tips. The old version felt stale – it wasn't being run to its fullest potential. I asked if I could make it non-corporate, real and have a little bit of my personality in there too. He said yes, and here we are.

Why We Changed the Name

You might remember this as "Dental Lab Tips." So what happened?

Seth and I hopped on a Google Meet Friday and asked ourselves a direct question: Does the name make sense? The answer was "ehhh".

We want to share valuable insights with dental labs, but more than that, we want to spotlight what GreatLab can do when you use it to its full potential. Too many labs are sitting on features they don't know exist or haven't taken the time to explore. That's what we're here to change.

I enjoy reading general lab tips as much as anyone(lol), but we're shifting focus. This is about showing you how to get the most out of GreatLab – the features that matter, the systems that save time, and the tools that make your operation just a heck of a lot smoother – but also explore some fun dental buzzwords like 3D Printing, DSO's, Workflows, Synergy's (insert 2000's Ted Talk here).

What to Expect

Let me be clear about what this is:

Not a sales pitch. We're not here to upsell you or push products.

Real people, real experience. This isn't corporate content written by someone who's never worked in a lab. You'll get to see the real relationship between Seth (GreatLab's founder) and active clients like me – the good, the funny, and everything in between.

Practical and useful. Expect actual features, real workflows, and actionable takeaways you can implement right away.

Actually fun. Yes, there will be memes. Yes, we're keeping it light. If you can't have a little fun while learning about lab management software, what's the point?

The goal is simple: make GreatLab Tips the place you come to when you want to learn something new, stay up to date, and have some fun.
